There are some memories that you just can't wash away.

I wanted a close, claustrophobic feeling for this one.

Been tinkering with this for ages. Dem tiles kill your eyes let me tell you. I may still tinker with it some more. I keep changing my mind about the richness of the colours and changing them from this to more pastel tones, then back again... each time I do one I decide I like the other better. Even with the file uploaded now I'm looking at the thumbnail thinking pastels would be better! No no just upload go go go!

My Tumblr addy is on there... but DA gets my art first! XD I'll stick it on Tumblr later.

Feedback would be lovely! This is one of those ones I've looked at for too long. Hearing the thoughts of some fresh eyes would be appreciated. :)

A friend of mine saw you at Comic Con London this week-end and showed me this print she brought from your stand. I loved it and just had to find your Deviant to purchase it! Can't wait to receive it :D

                                                             ART CRITIQUE

Piece name: ABLUTION
Artist:wyldflowa

Negative:
The suds seem a stuck on top they stand out too much and don't seem to blend in to the feel of the artwork, the same with the skull the rest of the skeleton seems to but just not the skull, with the skull i feel it needs a darker grey either instead of the grey you have in there or as well as it just seems too light.
The bath water in the tub against the wall seems not over the edges of the bath but the there water going on the floor goes over the edge there seems to be no explanation for it.

Positive:
The transparency of the water is just right you really pulled it off well! You certainly nailed the claustrophobic feel for this one. The pattern of the tiles is really great to see a reoccuring pattern even if it kills the eyes. The colours used are great really work well together i also like how the water stays in the lines of the squares adds something else to it!

Summary:
Over all a great piece the idea is great, the colours are great the way it's drawn is great a few minor bits to maybe adjust
but other than that pretty good piece

Personal Note:
I do like this piece it really is a feast for the eyes. I think if you flitting between the two pastel or brighter then do two one pastel one like this let the people choose what they like ;)

If you would like critique on your artwork please send me a note on deviantart.

I think this is a really fabulous peice of art, and the rectangular shapes really fills the picture and amplifies the claustrophobic feel to the art peice.

Even as a dead memory, that skeleton sure looks like its in a happy place right now ;)

Very beautiful picture. a very deep picture. I really love your works everytime I see them ; ^ ; You did a very good and beautiful job with the skeleton.
It looks like she's in a graphics graph type game, You know where they have all the little cubs and then you have to turn them witch every way to make it turn out into a squre or something, very 3D like. I like it alot~!

Very very crazy tiles I tell you! but they all look wonderful.

perhaps mabye the skull's head is a tad bit to big?? but other then that it looks very beautiful to me, or even adding more factors that it's a bathroom setting. Like a towel or rack somewhere ^^.

I adore the soap suds on her hairr~! I love how she's prodding the skull's head with her feet!! maybe a little more definition of the kneecaps would have been a lovely tough?? ^^

It seems really seriously cramped and it does give it that small claustrophobic feeling up to a tee!

 I was aiming for that blocky isometric game look to contrast with the smoothness of the woman's body. My first sketch used a much more complicated perspective... then I totally redrew it like this aha.

I had trouble with the skull's head - anatomically correct sized it looked shrunken compared to the woman (cos I naturally draw slightly large heads!), but the same size as hers it looked waaay too big. I agree, it's still a bit big. ^^;

Thank you for the critique! :D

I really love that isometric game look you created! It really does contrast with her body and it looks pretty small but I want to take a bath in it too cause it's so cute and dainty.

with no doubt, if you keep practicing with the heads, you will overcome that issue of slightly large heads or slightly small heads.

Your very welcome for the critique thank you for listening to my humbling words ^^

Love it! I think the colour choices are great - the saturated shadows add a bit of punch that all the grid lines probably need :)

The small tiles really add to the sense of claustrophobia and the strong colours hit your gut more, I think. Very nice work :)

Thank you Sonia. :thankyou: I love these kind of tiny tiles in bathrooms but in small spaces they're so oppressive. That feeling is what I wanted to get across in this pic, glad it seems to have worked~

I think it looks good as it is, pastel colors are a little relaxed, and I think the in your face pink sort of helps the cramped, close quarters effect. It's a very fun an unusual pic :)

Thank you for the comment. Yes, now I've stopped messing with it I prefer the saturated colours a lot more. :)
